Our Approach

Inclusive Development International partners with grassroots organizations and communities around the world to defend their rights and resources in the face of harmful corporate activities and internationally-financed development projects. We increase the legal, financial and reputational costs for corporations and international financial institutions that enable and profit from human rights abuses and environmental destruction, creating a powerful deterrent for irresponsible investment. 

We do this by exposing the corporate and financial actors behind harmful projects, supporting and working alongside affected communities to hold them accountable, and advocating for systemic policy change to strengthen access to remedy and prevent corporate abuse and impunity.

Investigations
We help community advocates untangle the web of hidden corporations and financial actors behind harmful projects, and we work with them to develop strategies using this information to build leverage and further community advocacy goals.

Tools & Training
We develop open-access corporate and financial research tools, publish resource guides and conduct training for fellow human rights and environmental defenders to build the power and capacity of the global corporate accountability movement.

Cases
In cases where we can have the greatest impact, we work with communities and local advocates over the long-haul to implement multi-pronged strategies to prevent harm and secure redress for damage caused by irresponsible development and business conduct.

We draw on our case work experience and evidence from our investigations to advocate for stronger human rights regulation and accountability within the spheres of transnational business, trade and development cooperation.
